How we hire

Our hiring process

  1. Email your application with a short cover note, a link to your current credits, and a link to a recent reel or tape. Use the button below to reveal our hiring address.
  2. A first reply within 5 business days. If the fit looks right, we book a 30-minute video call.
  3. Introductory call with the head coach. We talk about your working-actor practice, your coaching experience if any, and whether the roster is a fit both ways.
  4. A paid trial session with a current Tingley's student. The student gives us, and you, an honest read on the fit.
  5. A decision, either way, within two weeks of the trial. We do not ghost candidates.

We hire on working-actor evidence, coaching craft, and fit with our students. Contractor status

Independent contractor engagement in the United Arab Emirates

All Tingley's Acting Studio coaching, operations, and marketing roles are independent contractor engagements, not employment. In the United Arab Emirates you engage through a valid trade licence (freelance permit or professional licence) issued by a UAE free zone or mainland authority. You work your own hours, on your own equipment, using your own method.

You are responsible for your own tax (lodged with the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA)), the UAE does not levy personal income tax; UAE nationals are covered by the General Pensions and Social Security Authority, and expatriate contractors should review their home-country obligations, professional indemnity insurance where required in the United Arab Emirates, and any other statutory obligations that apply to self-employed workers locally. This arrangement is set out in a written contractor agreement before your first session or project.

    No. All roles at Tingley's Acting Studio are independent contractor engagements. You work your own hours, on your own equipment, and deliver against a session brief.

  • Are all roles remote?

    Yes. Every coaching role is delivered over video. Operations and marketing roles are also remote. There is no requirement to relocate or to attend a physical office.

  • Who handles my tax in the United Arab Emirates?

    You do. The relevant authority is the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) (https://tax.gov.ae). You are responsible for the UAE does not levy personal income tax; UAE nationals are covered by the General Pensions and Social Security Authority, and expatriate contractors should review their home-country obligations, professional indemnity insurance where required, and any other statutory obligations for self-employed workers in the United Arab Emirates.

  • What child-safety check is required in the United Arab Emirates?

    Any coach who sees minors in the United Arab Emirates holds a current a good-conduct certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Interior, issued by the Ministry of Interior, with additional vetting conducted where the engagement takes place in a free zone or educational setting. Documentation is sighted by us before the first session with a minor.

  • How long does the application process take?

    A first reply within five business days of receipt of your application. A 30-minute introductory video call if your background fits. A trial coaching session, paid, with a current Tingley's student. A contract offer, or a direct no, within two weeks of the trial.

  • What happens to my application data?

    Your application is stored in our email and reviewed only by the hiring team. If we do not progress your application, we delete your materials within 12 months unless you ask us to retain them for a future role.
