How we hire

Our hiring process

  1. Email your application with a short cover note, a link to your current credits, and a link to a recent reel or tape. Use the button below to reveal our hiring address.
  2. A first reply within 5 business days. If the fit looks right, we book a 30-minute video call.
  3. Introductory call with the head coach. We talk about your working-actor practice, your coaching experience if any, and whether the roster is a fit both ways.
  4. A paid trial session with a current Tingley's student. The student gives us, and you, an honest read on the fit.
  5. A decision, either way, within two weeks of the trial. We do not ghost candidates.
Equal opportunity

Who we hire

We hire on working-actor evidence, coaching craft, and fit with our students. We do not discriminate on grounds of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other characteristic protected by the law in Australia. Where a role requires a child-safety check for coaching minors in Australia, we disclose that in the role itself.

Contractor status

Independent contractor engagement in Australia

All Tingley's Acting Studio coaching, operations, and marketing roles are independent contractor engagements, not employment. In Australia you engage through an Australian Business Number (ABN) and invoices in your own business name. You work your own hours, on your own equipment, using your own method.

You are responsible for your own tax (lodged with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO)), superannuation (the ATO is the default pathway; you are responsible for your own contributions as a contractor), professional indemnity insurance where required in Australia, and any other statutory obligations that apply to self-employed workers locally. This arrangement is set out in a written contractor agreement before your first session or project.
